The hallmarks of Harley Earl's LaSalle were curves rather than sharp corners and a long, low overall look rather than the high boxy look of the Ford Model T. Earl’s fascination with aerodynamics came through clearly when the LaSalle was photographed alongside Charles Lindbergh’s record-setting Spirit of St. Louis airplane.
