To highlight technological progress and interest young people in science and engineering, GM inaugurated its annual traveling "Parade of Progress" exhibit in 1936, with a caravan of specially designed buses taking the educational exhibit across the U.S.

Additional Information:

My mom, dad, brother and I viewed the various exhibits, in Duluth’s Leif Erickson Park, with wide-eyed amazement at the predictions of the future in full form reality. Freeway overpasses; Cars and buses moving at high speed on wide highways; Living rooms with "The News of Tomorrow" depicting a scrolling newspaper on a screen in a box; Airplanes flying at never before seen speeds! Everyone was in total awe!
