1960, New Smaller Cars for the United States

Marking what would eventually become an industry-wide trend, GM introduced three new small cars for the 1961 model year, including the Buick Special, the Oldsmobile F-85, and the Pontiac Tempest. These small cars were followed by the Chevrolet Chevy II, launched a year later as a 1962 model.
