...I'm a 30-year employee with GM.... My baby is a 1967 Pontiac GTO, 2-door sedan. I am the third owner of this car. A good friend of mine was the second owner; it had been stored in a barn for 30 plus years after the original owner was killed at Chevrolet. The car has all of the Pontiac Historical Services (PHS) documentation for it. The car also has a number's matching 400 engine with a 4 barrel carburetor, automatic transmission, and air conditioning. It has been repainted once (Regimental Red) and the interior is original (Black) except for the carpet, it was replaced three years ago. It has 74,757 miles and runs like a dream. We added BF Goodrich Silvertown Red Line radial tires to make the ride better. On the weekends we enjoy taking our cars to different shows. We also have an early build '64 GTO sedan (10/29/63), a '65 GTO hardtop (under restoration), and a '65 LeMans convertible in our collection. It is fun showing them off, and talking to other people about their cars, especially the younger people. These classics have already made history and they fascinate the younger generation, myself included. Keep the classics alive.
GM’s Century Cruise pays tribute to GM’s past and the passion owners have for their vehicles. On Saturday, August 16, 2008 this vehicle and more than 100 other classic GM vehicles will cruise from the GM Global Headquarters at the Renaissance Center up Woodward Avenue to the heart of the Woodward Dream Cruise in Royal Oak and the surrounding suburbs. One of these vehicles will be crowned “top cruiser” based on a text voting campaign.
