- The Gravatai Complex receives the "Iron Man 2001 Award" from the Rio Grande do Sul Iron Association.
2002
- July
- Launch of Celta 5-door with 1.4 liter engine.
- August
- Launch of the Chevrolet Meriva.
- October
- The Celta reaches 200,000 vehicles produced.
- November
- Chevrolet Meriva receives the "Launch" and "Best Vehicle" awards by AutoData magazine. At the same ceremony GM is honored with the "AutoData 2002" Social Responsibility award.
- Chevrolet Meriva is honored with the "MPV Design Award" from the Automotive Institute of Engineering in England.
- GM is the first automaker in Brazil to include transportation fees in the price.
- The Celta is again sales leader of the month – 12,620 vehicles (80% by Internet).
- The Astra reaches sales record.
2003
- January
- Omega is sales leader of its segment.
- The Meriva Concept Team receives the "Chairmans Honor Award."
- The Astra sedan is 2002 sales leader.
- February
- Meriva is sales leader of its segment.

- GM do Brasil begins exporting Merivas to Mexico.

- January
- GMB celebrates its 79th anniversary.
- February
- Rick Wagoner, GM President and CEO, during a visit to Brazil, announces an investment of US$ 240 million at the Gravataí Complex.
- March
- São José dos Campos Industrial Complex celebrate its 45th anniversary.
- Launch of the Zafira Flexpower 2005.
- May
- Chevrolet S-10 and Chevrolet Montana pick-ups are sales leader in its segment.
- Launch of Astra Flexpower.
- June
- 400,000th Celta comes out of the assembly line.
- Flexpower models represent 20% of total sales.
- June 14: General Motors do Brasil produced the 400,000th Chevrolet Celta Chevrolet; a Lyra Red four-door energy version equipped with air conditioner and 1.4 motor of 85 horse powers at the Gravataí Industrial Automotive Complex (CIAG) in Rio Grande do Sul.

- Gravataí Industrial complex celebrates its 3rd anniversary.
- Between the two plants, São Caetano do Sul and São José dos Campos, over 1,700 students have graduated from the "Junior Achievement."

- Gravataí Industrial complex announces their complex expansion to produce a new car.

- Astra Advantage Special series arrives in the market with the best cost benefit.
- General Motors Institute makes a donation to AACD (Homeless Children Assistance).
- São José dos Campos Complex received an award from Band Vale TV and radio station homage for environmental works in Vale do Paraiba.

- General Motors Brazil completes its 80 years in Brazil celebrating all times records since the first year in Brazil – for the first time GM is number one in sales.
- March
- Launch of the new Omega with a V6 alloytec engine
- São José dos Campos Plant hosted an Open House to celebrate GM do Brasil 80th anniversary with more than 50,000 visitors in attendance.
